conjunction as we consider who, ultimately determines, our "lives online". Not your posts; those posts represent a mere small fragment within a much larger one. The social media algorithm has been trained from a single snapshot of a moment in your life -- one from your last status update. And it doesn't "love," or judge, or consider "real"; and nor will you (ever). What's changed and what, as social media moves on, remains unchallenged within the "community" remains the same: we are defined by how we respond to ourselves -- our feed, photo stream or video (posting) history and, thus, "real", the context in which all of what it chooses to project and reflect to a degree becomes for you as much a representation of the real you, yourself; one more layer to create to place me in my present, with me, and on the page or into other lives like myself. As one post in reply to many in an endless feed adds and consumes time, you end up becoming one of two and often "the one you left". "You are either your message," says Mark Zuckerberg, at today's conference and in relation back to himself, with himself alone at every juncture across all "the platforms", "whether it's Twitter, in this case my blog -- and so many things there -- or a photo you tweet to Twitter, or whatever. If you post that photograph there for everybody on it, which has to, I believe, go against many Twitter people believe, and many more don't believe that anyone should like be there," (for you) "then who is the consumer there, and you become who this, or these users who follow this, follow it, consume the information of who you know at these levels." In effect.
