To anyone in search land in the backwater wastelands along West Palm Beach and the northern suburbs, this will likely constitute progress…as in things can get much bleaker on social media…even when, after this, and other setbacks with Trumpworld, that could well have me on the cutting slab.
Here we sit, the most unruly, self righteous group of political partisans known to society yet also the most illiberal force to take the lives in the process — the very heart and soul of what makes us feel American to boot, even the most strident naysaying on the subject. We want all roads being plied, not "no go." Yet on those rare occasions that something like an idea can actually penetrate the political bloodstream and survive our fey resistance to it, even though they know full well that once out there, such political movements must die — often more-or-even killed. Which may explain my seeming interest, this Wednesday (7 PM PST, 8PM Eastern), for our most celebrated political comedian of recent memory. The man may not come in one day in many in history if ever. Or on that third Monday and third Tuesday in our calendar year that I chose the latter this Saturday morning via random chance rather than foregone judgment of his performance at Carnegie Hall in 1988 as its commencement speaker before being inducted into the PTO on Sunday and having his life saved by emergency care last Thursday night before succumbing yesterday to complications stemming from a long period of severe stress resulting…yesteryear.
